Uplifting Communities Through CSR
At Family Health Dental Clinic, our mission extends far beyond the walls of our practice. We believe that access to quality oral healthcare is a right, not a privilege. Through our Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives, we are proud to serve the less fortunate and vulnerable members of society by delivering free dental care, education, and essential support.
Over the years, we have undertaken impactful outreach programs in Kibera, the Ruai Wings of Hope Rescue Center for Teenage Mothers, and Al Nisa Children’s Home, helping hundreds of individuals improve their health and dignity.
Outreach in Kibera: Serving with Compassion
Kibera is one of Nairobi’s most underserved informal settlements, where residents often lack access to even the most basic medical and dental services. In response, Family Health Dental Clinic organized a free dental outreach targeting families, children, and the elderly.
Our team of volunteer dental professionals offered:
- Free dental check-ups and treatments, including extractions and cleanings
- Oral hygiene education to promote long-term preventive care
- Distribution of oral hygiene kits, including toothbrushes, toothpaste, and guides
This initiative was met with overwhelming gratitude from community members, many of whom had never visited a dentist before. We aimed not only to treat but also to educate and empower families to take control of their oral health.
Supporting Teenage Mothers at Ruai Wings of Hope Rescue Center
The Ruai Wings of Hope Rescue Center is a shelter that provides refuge and rehabilitation for teenage mothers who have faced abuse, neglect, or abandonment. Family Health Dental Clinic visited the center to offer much-needed health support and encouragement.
Our contributions included:
- Comprehensive dental screenings and treatment for the young mothers and their children
- Donations of essential supplies, such as baby formula, diapers, sanitary pads, and personal care items.
- Health talks and emotional wellness sessions, encouraging self-esteem and informed health choices
This CSR project not only improved their health but also aimed to restore dignity and confidence to young women working to rebuild their lives.
Bringing Smiles to Al Nisa Children’s Home
At Al Nisa Children’s Home, which shelters orphaned and vulnerable children, our CSR initiative focused on bringing both dental care and emotional support to young residents. For many children, it was their first time receiving professional oral care.
Key highlights from the visit:
- Dental check-ups, for children of all ages.
- Fun and interactive oral hygiene workshops, teaching children how to care for their teeth
- Distribution of personal dental kits with toothbrushes, and toothpastes
- Engaging the children in play-based activities, mentorship, and positive interaction
This outreach brought not just health benefits, but joy and encouragement, showing the children that their well-being matters.
Our Ongoing Commitment
Family Health Dental Clinic is committed to making a lasting impact through ongoing CSR programs that target underserved communities. Our goal is to bridge the healthcare gap, especially in oral health, while building relationships based on empathy, respect, and care.
